Lake McDonald Water Tank Blasting and Recoating

This project involved tenting and heating a 32 foot diameter, 16 foot tall, 110,000 gallon capacity potable water tank located in a remote location near Lake McDonald, Glacier National Park, in order to remove all interior and exterior paint through dustless blasting. Following paint removal the tank was recoated with Macropoxy 646 PW Epoxy (Interior), and Macropoxy 646 Fast Cure Epoxy (Exterior Primer) and Hi-Solids Polyurethane Semi-Gloss (Exterior Topcoat). Activities critical to the success of the project included managing logistics due to the remote location, surface protection, detailed paint removal, confined space entry, and stringent coating standards.
